Styles P and his wife Adjua Styles sat with the Breakfast Club morning crew in an emotional yet important conversation about mental health and black families. In 2015, their daughter took her own life, and years later, the tragedy has led her mother, Adjua to write a book about the awareness of mental health in her honor. Styles explains the dynamic of Black families in urban society, and the residual effects on a child when they lack connections with their biological fathers.
This interview aired a while back, but it does raise the issue of Mental Health in urban communities and the triggers of depression.
